Ground Source Heat Pump | Solar Water Heating | Underfloor Heating

Worcester Bosch Space Heating Ground Source Heat Pump
- Proven technology, used for many years in Northern Europe.
- Heat is absorbed from the ground by pipework and transferred in a liquid mix of water/glycol to a heat pump (located in the store adjacent to the kitchen). Water is supplied by the heat pump to heat the hot water cylinder or radiators which are oversized to suit the relatively low water temperature.
The benefits of a ground source heat pump are detailed in the table below.

Worcester Bosch Domestic Hot Water - Solar Water Heating
- Solar radiation is absorbed by roof mounted flat plate collectors. Heat is collected in a heat transfer liquid which passes through a heat exchanger to heat the water.
- Panels are fixed above the existing roof finish.
- Optimum orientation for absorbers is south, tilted between 30o and 45o from horizontal.
- Typical anticipated contribution to hot water, is 50% with seasonal fluctuation.

Underfloor Heating
- Flow temperature is lower than conventional central heating systems; heat is constantly released through the underfloor heating and oversized radiators at first floor.
