The House
This home was used as a demonstration home from 23 November to 14 December 2007, open to the general public for exhibition purposes and general awareness / information on environmental good practice initiatives.
The home has been let in the normal way. The tenant was identified from the lettings waiting list and was involved during the course of the project, to gain familiarity with the features that have been incorporated and were involved in the selection of finishes, etc. They were also heavily involved in the design of the front and rear gardens. The house is being monitored against a 'control' house for running cost performance for a period of at least 12 months.
This information will be used for comparisons in the future. It is anticipated that demonstration projects will be undertaken in the future in which we would seek to incorporate and progress the assessment of products / microgeneration technologies for the benefit of upgrading the performance of existing housing stock.
