Bournville Young People invited to Make Their Mark

November 15 2006

Bournville teenagers are being invited to make a difference in their community and attend an event on December 16.

The Young People´s Conference is being organised by Bournville Village Trust, an organisation which has won national awards for introducing innovative projects to support young people. All youngsters living or studying on the Bournville Estate are invited to attend the event which will be held at the Epic Skate Park in Moseley.

The one day conference will provide access to a range of support agencies, education and training opportunities and information about volunteering. Organisations which are supporting the event include West Midlands Police, Connexions and Bournville College.

An Awards Ceremony will be held during the day to recognise youngsters who have been nominated as high achievers and who have already made their mark in their community.

On the fun side, young people will have the chance to sample the activities at the Epic Skate Park and the day will end with food and a disco.

Places are limited to fifty and those fulfilling the criteria, should contact Rebecca Debenham on 0121 415 6422.
