Winning Green Logo on Show all over South Birmingham Girls at Kings Norton School have been taking part in a competition to design a logo for Bournville Village Trust`s newly converted to gas vehicles

For their National Curriculum Citizenship Project the thirteen year olds formed seven groups to design a logo for three LPG fuelled trade vans belonging to Bournville Village Trust.

The South Birmingham housing association needed a new logo to promote a pilot initiative where three small vans within the Housing Services Department will be converted to LPG fuel.

As part of an ongoing environmental awareness campaign, fuel used by its fleet of trade vans is being reviewed. Over a number of months running costs will be monitored and if there are cost savings, as many as twenty or thirty vehicles could subsequently be converted to LPG.

Residential Neighbourhood Officer Mike Coakley who originally suggested that the vans should display a logo to promote the initiative to residents said: "It is important that our residents are aware that Bournville Village Trust is doing its bit for the environment. Marking each of the LPG fuelled vans with a logo seemed the most appropriate way of doing this."
