Buying Your Freehold

As an existing leaseholder on the Bournville Village Trust Estate, are you thinking of purchasing your freehold? To purchase under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967 you need to have been the legal owner of the property for at least two years.

To begin the process, the first step you should take is to write to the Estate Management Department at the Estate Office, Oak Tree Lane, Bournville Birmingham B30 1UB. We will then arrange to provide you with an estimated cost for purchasing the freehold.

Once you receive the estimates, if you wish to proceed you should then instruct your solicitor to serve Notice on the Trust under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967.

The whole process from service of the Notice takes approximately three to six months, depending on individual circumstances.
