Why We Are Different

BVT is more than just a housing association because we offer:

Community Facilities

As well as providing shops and community venues, our dedicated, highly active community team promotes community activities.

Estate Management

We look after all the open spaces & landscaped areas on our estates.

Agricultural Estates

Unique amongst Housing Associations, the Trust owns 3000 acres of land, mostly in Worcestershire, which acts as a Green Belt to Birmingham, preserving rural life and as an amenity - some public, some private for conservation purposes. The land is mostly let to dairy farmers and also has woodland, pools, ancient monuments and two sites of Special Scientific Interest.

Opportunity to be Heard

A community which embraces people from all social and ethnic backgrounds, tenants and owner-occupiers, leaseholders and freeholders.

Our various community and Residents' Associations and Advisory Committees give residents a 'voice'.

Prospects

A scheme to help create sustainable tenancies by offering individual support in financial management and life skills together with training / educational and employment opportunities.

24 Hour Helpline

A dispersed alarm system fitted to all properties accommodating vulnerable tenants and linked to our Central Control Unit where a trained carer, rather than just a 'key holder' responds to emergency calls.

This service is available to other housing providers for a small fee. For more details please contact John McHugh on (0121) 415-6503 or email johnmchugh@bvt.org.uk.

Equipment and Adaptations

The Trust undertake or facilitate works/conversions to enable elderly and/or disabled tenants to remain in their own homes, living as independently as possible, for as long as possible.
