Try a Tudor Dance!

Picture from a Tudor woodcut of a couple dancing. click to return to Ideas & Activities

The Spanish Pavanne is a slow stately court dance,
danced with a partner moving clockwise round the room.
You could imagine Elizabeth I dancing in one of her beautiful dresses:

One step to the left
Place feet together
One step to the right
Place feet together
Take three steps backwards

Place feet together
Take four quick steps forward
Make a small bow or curtsey
Repeat these steps

One step to the left
Place feet together
One step to the right
Place feet together

Make a deep bow or curtsey.

You might like to accompany your dancing with the music,
you could play this on a recorder:

Tudor music for a dance, that can be played on the recorder.
