We have regular great events at Selly Manor. They are always family friendly, with lots of hands on experiences, things to make and super sights! Take a look at our events programme below. Wicked Workshops...

Make a Pomander Tuesday 1st April. Using an orange and spices make a Tudor air freshener.

Kingly Collage Wednesday 2nd April. Create your own Henry VIII-inspired picture.

Make a Kite Thursday 3rd April. Make and decorate your very own kite.

Ship Shape Tuesday 19th August. Make a model Tudor ship from a milk carton and sail it.

Lavender Bags Wednesday 20th August. Make lavender bags using supplies from Selly Manor.

Jester Skills Thursday 21st August. Learn juggling, diabolo and plate spinning skills.

Booking is essential! Please call us on 0121 472 0199 with your name, number of places you wish to book, address and telephone number as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Each workshop runs at 10am and 2pm on the stated day and lasts for approximately an hour and a half.

Workshops are suitable for children aged from 6 – 12, and costs £3 per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults receive free entrance to the workshop but an admission charge is applicable should adults wish to view the museum.

I SPY! Monday 11 th – Friday 15 th February, February Half Term, 10am-5pm
Are you good enough for the Selly secret service? Come along and find out about Tudor spies, crack the code, take part in the manor murder mystery and make a great gadget.

Easter Eggstravaganza, Friday 21st – Sunday 30th March, Easter Holidays,
Tue-Fri, 10am-5pm. Sat, Sun & Bank Holiday Mon, 2pm-5pm
Prepare yourselves for a hoppy Easter. Make a funny bunny hat, handy chick card and take part in the egg-cellent hunt to win a special prize!

St George's Day – Storytelling and Crafts, Saturday 19th April, 2pm-4pm
Traditional English stories and performances by Julie Ann Cooper. Find out about St George and make your own dangerous dragon. Booking Essential.

Art Attacks & Crafty Creations, Monday 26th May – Sunday 1st June, Whitsun Half Term
Tue-Fri, 10am-5pm. Sat, Sun & Bank Holiday Mon, 2pm-5pm
As part of Museums and Galleries Month join us for a closer look at Tudor art and artists. Create your own wicked woodcut, draw a grand portrait, find out about famous artists and their tools!

Court in the Act, Tuesday 29th July – Thursday 14th August (except Mondays and Fridays),
Summer Holidays, Tue-Thu, 10am-5pm. Sat & Sun, 2pm-5pm
Discover life at Henry VIII's royal court. Dress to impress and make your own sparkling crown. Join in with jolly jester skills including juggling, magic and music!

Horrid Halloween, Monday 27th – Friday 31st October, October Half Term, 10am-5pm
Make a monstrous mask and pumpkin finger puppet. Dare to delve into the infamous Yucky Boxes. Plus, take part in this year's Big Draw!

Open Days, Tours & Exhibitions...

Regular Guided Tours
Guided tours of Selly Manor will take place every Sunday, from April to September. Tours begin at 3pm and last approximately an hour.
Tours themselves are free, but standard admission charges are still applicable (Adults £3.50, Concessions £2, Children £1.50, Family £9). Large groups should telephone in advance, places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

NCCPG Plant Sale, Bank Holiday Monday 26th May, 2pm – 5pm
A selection of plants on sale in aid of the National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens.

Wedding Open Days, Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd June, 2pm-5pm
Visit the stunning medieval hall, the perfect location for a small wedding. Take the opportunity to meet our experienced staff.

Garden Open Day, Sunday 20th July, 11am-4pm
See the beautiful period garden in all its splendour, and the progress that has been made since the official opening in 2007. Find out about herbs and their uses in Tudor times. Meet the gardeners and enjoy a tour with Heritage Manager Gillian Ellis. Plus, plant sales in aid of the National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens!

Castle Arts Society Exhibition, Monday 25th August – Thursday 4th September,
Tue-Fri, 10am-5pm. Sat, Sun & Bank Holiday Mon, 2pm-5pm
See the work of local artists in this mixed media exhibition.

Heritage Open Days, Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th September, 2pm-5pm
Enjoy tours of the Tudor manor and find out about the exquisite 16 th and 17 th century oak furniture collection.

Charity Christmas Cards Sale, 11th November – 17th December, Tue-Fri, 10am-5pm
Hundreds of charity cards on sale for good causes.

Christmas by Candlelight, Friday 12th & Saturday 13th December, 5pm-9pm
Witness the stunning Tudor manor decorated with festive finery and lit by atmospheric candlelight. Enter into the Christmas spirit with marvellous merry musicians Diabolus In Musica.
