Lightmoor Design Guide
The Lightmoor Village Property Alteration Design Guide reflects the principles inherent in the design and construction of all houses, and translates the legal documents into guidance for residents on the future upkeep of their homes, should they wish to consider repairs, alterations, extensions and improvements.
The design guide covers the external appearance and character of the house, and the gardens and boundaries, together with the use of adjacent open areas. The overall effect of these design standards is to create a modern form of village development that meets Bournville Village Trust’s and the government’s most exacting requirements for innovation and sustainable schemes of high quality and desirable character.
In general terms, the houses within Lightmoor Village are considered not to require any modifications or enhancements. The high design quality of the development may mean that some plots are of such size and configuration as to not allow for certain changes, such as conservatories or extensions.
If any resident of the village wishes to consider making any alterations to their home then Bournville Village Trust will provide guidance and advise on future proposals. Please note that consent from the Trustees of the Trust needs to be obtained before any work can be carried out.
