Bournville Village Trust Shropshire

Lightmoor Stewardship

Lightmoor is not just about building homes, but is about creating a sustainable community and village environment, which reflects the wishes of its residents and provides a place where people will want to live and stay.

Bournville Village Trust will be responsible for the long-term stewardship of the village, which is a relatively new concept in the UK, but allows all residents to become involved in the management of their neighbourhood. This encourages residents to not only take pride in their village, but also to be involved in making decisions on it’s future. In other words, stewardship will ensure that the community drives everything that happens at Lightmoor Village. Please visit the ‘Resident Involvement’ or ‘Resident Involvement’ section to see how you can get involved.

Bournville Village Trust will manage the estate of Lightmoor Village to high standards of stewardship. The Trust will open an office in the centre of the Village which will assist in this management and will provide a focal point for communication with residents of the Village, and with existing neighbouring properties.

In the short term the Trust has opened a small temporary office at 7 Stocking Park Road (Oakham Manor). This temporary office will continue in use until the proposed permanent office opens in the Village Centre.

The purpose of opening this small office is to allow Bournville Village Trust to be on site to manage Lightmoor Village right from the start, responding to inquiries promptly and efficiently.

In addition, stewardship offers residents:

  • Premium value property
  • Sustainable community
  • Increased good neighbourliness and community involvement
  • Control of car parking (in certain areas), street lighting etc
  • Security and general wellbeing
  • Properly managed external environment
  • Support and assistance where and when needed

Each household within the Lightmoor Village irrespective of tenure or property type, will contribute to certain aspects of the stewardship via the ‘Maintenance Charge’. Please visit the ‘Maintenance Charge’ section for more information.
