How to Apply

Applying for Rented Housing with Bournville Village Trust

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL OUR WAITING LISTS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO HUGE DEMAND. FOLLOWING OUR RECENT REVIEW THE WAITING LISTS WILL NOT BE REVIEWED AGAIN UNTIL 2009.

When the lists re-open, to apply for accommodation with the Trust you will need to complete an application form which can be downloaded from this site or you can contact us on 0121 415 6571 for a form.

We accept applications from those in housing need over the age of 18 years. However, we do not accept applications from Birmingham City Council or Housing Association tenants - in this case you should contact your current landlord for advice.

Your form will be assessed under our lettings policy (which again can be down loaded or requested by phone), and you will be advised in writing of the outcome of your application. Successful applicants should expect to wait between 12-18 months for accommodation. Although the Trust has around 3000 properties for rent in Birmingham, our vacancy rate is very low, with only around 100 properties per year becoming available for us to offer to those in housing need.

Transfers

If you are a tenant of Bournville Village Trust, have been in your property for at least twelve months, and are in need of a move to alternative housing, you can apply for a transfer to another BVT property. You should complete a transfer application form which will be assessed using our points system as explained on the accompanying guidance notes and our policy booklet.
