Schools Visits and Outreach

School visits

Our Heritage team deliver educational sessions exploring the history of Bournville Village to school groups from across the West Midlands.

Sessions aim to share Bournville’s heritage to Key Stages one, two, and three, inspiring a new generation to appreciate and enjoy local heritage and understand how Bournville came about through the vision of George Cadbury.

Included in sessions is a walking tour of the village green, exploration around the Quaker ethos that guided the Cadbury family and a chance for children to design their own village inspired by Bournville.

Outreach

As well as schools coming to Bournville and having an onsite session at Selly Manor Museum, our Heritage team also travel to schools. They take with them museum objects that can be used to bring Bournville to the children at their own schools.
