Living in an extra care apartment gives you your own home with your own front door but with access to staff 24 hours a day to meet your assessed care and support needs allowing you to live independently with dignity and security.

Bournville Village Trust and Telford & Wrekin Council work in partnership to ensure Bournville House offers an excellent service to older people in the Borough. The partnership was successful in securing part funding from the Homes & Communities Agency, the remaining monies for the project were met by the Council and Bournville Village Trust.

Bournville House is set in the heart of the Lightmoor Village in Telford. Bournville House offers spacious fully self-contained 2-bedroom apartments, comprising living/dining room, modern equipped kitchen, private bathroom with level access shower and additional storage space. All the apartments are fully wheelchair accessible and are carefully designed to provide high quality accommodation with privacy, independence and security.

Bournville House also offers a range of communal facilities, which includes lounges, restaurant, guest rooms, IT suite, activity room, gym and hairdressers. The outside has landscaped gardens with raised flower beds, bowling/croquet lawn, greenhouse and winter gardens.

The apartments are advertised on Choose Your Home when available, and allocations will only be made to people over 50 with housing, care and support needs. An assessment of applicants care needs will be carried out by Telford & Wrekin Council’s Adult Social Care Team.
