And the winner is… BPS is shortlisted for another award for leadership and people development

Award for leadership and people development

Having walked away with the CITB’s Apprenticeship Employer of the year award last November, BPS’s success continues after being shortlisted for The Celebrating Construction award for leadership and people development.

The Celebrating Construction Awards recognise the West Midlands most inspiring construction projects and the organisations and people that play a vital role in project delivery.

BPS currently employs 14 Apprentices as part of its 50-strong workforce. The submission by the management team for this award is intended to shine a light on the innovative approach that the Trust has adopted in developing and training new talent.

Over recent years, BPS has encouraged its existing team to learn new trades and skills to support the development of a multi-skilled workforce. Employees are actively encouraged to pick up new trades including plastering and brick work, helping to spread knowledge and resource.

Commenting on their shortlist, Steve Rose, Head of Contracting Services said; “Investing so heavily in our apprentices clearly works. We have proven generation after generation that apprenticeships ensure that the very best methods and techniques are perpetuated between generations.”

This prestigious event that is co-hosted by Acivico Limited, the Chartered Institute of Building’s (CIOB) West Midlands branch and the Built Environment Hub provides an ideal platform to celebrate innovation and success within the region.

Let’s hope that BPS can retain its position as an industry leader in workforce training and development.
