A young apprentice is celebrating after completing a four-year placement with Bournville Village Trust’s Maintenance Services.

Josh Lowe began his apprenticeship as an electrician in 2021 and following four years of hard work and commitment, has passed his assessment with distinction.

Liam Bustin, Electrical Service Manager at Bournville Village Trust, said: “This is an incredible achievement and a true testament to Josh’s hard work, dedication and professionalism throughout his apprenticeship journey.

“We are all extremely proud of Josh and look forward to continuing to watch him grow in his career at Bournville Village Trust.”

Josh Lowe, said: “I am very grateful that I can now work alongside my colleagues as a qualified electrician after completing my exams through the constant support Bournville Village Trust provided.

“I am very excited to start the next part of my journey which never would have happened without the help and opportunities I have received throughout my four years.”

Bournville Village Trust’s Maintenance Services provide a repairs and maintenance service to around 3,700 homes across central and south Birmingham and Telford.

Between 2024 and 2029, it will spend over £40m on improving its homes and over £25m on its repairs service. This includes hiring more repairs staff and this year, it has recruited five more operatives to deliver day-to-day repairs.
