After recently being awarded Apprenticeship Employer of the Year by CITB, the sector skills council for the Construction industry, Bournville PropertyCare Service’s (BPS)’ Steve Rose was invited to appear on BBC Today.
The radio programme was keen to learn more about BPS’s approach to continued professional development and the role that apprenticeships and training has on maintaining its high levels of service.
CITB were initially approached to take part in the radio show to and invited BPS to provide an “expert view” on best practise regarding training and nurturing young trade people with the Trust.
Their recent award is in recognition of their willingness to develop people from within, using a combination of tried and tested “on the job” training supported by South Birmingham College and CITB.
With a long and well established track record in workforce development, BPS continues to drive forward with its training programme with plans to expand this model of learning into other areas of the Trust’s business.
