A family-run Bournville garage is taking social media by storm with its quirky videos amassing millions of views.
Auto Works HQ moved into the garage site on The Sandpits, just off Acacia Road, in October last year. The site is leased by Bournville Village Trust, which manages more than 100 commercial properties across central and south Birmingham and Telford.
Owner Andrew Wells, who runs the business alongside his wife Stacey, son Dylan and daughter Courtney, said they love using TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, to engage with customers.
Andrew said: “Social media is great way of showing the people behind our business and what’s involved in running the garage. We like to make our customers laugh and have a bit of fun. One of our videos got over 4 million views!”
Social media fun aside, Andrew says the established garage, which moved from Kings Norton, is committed to providing ‘dealership quality services with an independent touch and feel’.
Services offered by Auto Works HQ include MOTs, servicing, all repairs (including hybrid and electric) and tyres.
The garage is also committed to employing local people and has future ambitions to help tackle the skills shortage in the sector by upskilling mechanics and offering one apprenticeship a year.
