Our new Warm Homes Programme is aiming to make the rented homes we manage warmer, more comfortable and affordable to heat by improving energy efficiency.
But we need you! We’re looking for Bournville Village Trust (BVT) tenants who are interested in working with us to help shape the Programme.
What’s the Programme all about?
The Warm Homes Programme will include retrofitting, which means improving existing homes with upgrades that help them perform better, meet modern standards and remain comfortable places to live.
We will take a ‘fabric first’ approach; focusing first on the home itself, such as fitting better insulation, ventilation, appropriate heating and glazing, to help reduce heat loss and support lower energy use.
We’ve been awarded a £900,000 grant from the West Midlands Combined Authority, which we’ll match fund to invest £1.8 million in at least 118 homes. A total of around 650 homes are expected to benefit from the programme overall.
How can I get involved?
As the programme develops, we want residents to help make sure the information we provide is clear, practical and focused on what matters most to you and other residents.
If you choose to get involved, this may include:
- Sharing your thoughts on what residents need to know about the programme.
- Helping identify common questions or concerns.
- Giving feedback on draft letters, leaflets or other information.
- Helping review tender submissions to choose a contractor for the works.
- Taking part in a short discussion, workshop or feedback session.
You don’t need any specialist knowledge to take part – just enthusiasm and a desire to make a real difference. We’re looking for residents who are willing to share their own experience and help shape the programme around residents’ needs.
If you would like to be involved, please contact us by Friday 4th September 2026 (extension of original deadline of 17.08.26). You can do this by:
