Following a review of our housing waiting list application process, we are changing the way that we offer rented homes to prospective tenants.
We will now be using a choice based lettings system called Homes Direct, used by many other housing providers and our Lettings team in Telford, to advertise our available homes.
Anyone wishing to apply for a rented home with us in Birmingham will now need to register with Homes Direct.
Homes Direct is an online process which enables prospective tenants, who have registered to use the system, to bid for vacant homes that are advertised.
Elaine Blackburn, Head of Customer Services at BVT, said: “Homes Direct will be more transparent for applicants in that they will have access to many properties in one place and not just be on a list waiting to be offered a home.
“It also means applicants will be able to choose which properties they want to bid for and see what bid position they’re in. This will reduce unsuccessful offers, and be customer led.”
