Later this month, Annette Homer will be joining the Trust as the new Director of Housing and Community Services. With over 23 years within the social housing sector, Annette replaces Bob Stanton who retires at the end of January.

For the last 15 years Annette has worked with the Bromford Group, leading their housing service in the South West region.  Whilst having worked in major towns and cities, including Birmingham, Annette has much experience working amongst properties of great character, throughout Cheltenham and the Cotswolds.  The prospect of working at Bournville is therefore very exciting to her.

Bournville is not a stranger to Annette.  As a child, she had relatives who worked and lived in the area and the history of Bournville actually formed part of Annette’s studies as part of her Housing Qualification back in 1988.

In addition to working with older housing, Annette has much experience in the development of new, energy efficient housing and the benefits this brings to communities. Her experience will no doubt be brought into play in relation to BVT’s future development plans and she is currently looking forward to learning more about the work already undertaken within Birmingham and Shropshire.

Annette was awarded her Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Housing in 2007 in recognition of her contribution to the world of housing.

Her view of her role in relation to service delivery is to constantly ask herself the question “how can we work in partnership with our customers to continually improve the services we deliver and the homes our customer live in?”

We wish Annette every success in her new role within the Trust.
