Sport, music, crafts and food will all be on the menu for south-Birmingham’s first ever youth festival this summer.

The Bournville and Weoley Castle Youth Fest will take place on Sunday 9th August 2026 across various venues in the area.

It’s been organised by a group of community partners including Bournville Village Trust, Bournville Parish Church, Love Weoley Castle, Niyyah Community Enterprise, Selly Manor Museum and St Francis Youth and Community Centre.

The free event, mainly aimed at those aged 11 plus, hopes to inspire young people to get involved in activities on their doorstep in a fun, safe and accessible way.

Young visitors to the Bournville and Weoley Castle Youth Fest will be able to enjoy…

  • Crafts, activities, a chocolate fountain, inflatables and much more at St Francis Youth and Community Centre (Sycamore Road, B30 2AA) from 1pm-4pm. They can also find out how to join the Centre’s youth club.
  • Sports/games, free bike servicing with New Routes, music, arts and crafts, and free food with Love Weoley Castle at Duck Pond Park (Bushwood Road, Weoley Castle) from 4:30pm-6:30pm.
  • A Lion Dance workshop, craft corner, face painting, cooking session and sports at Shenley Court Hall (200 Green Meadow Rd, B29 4ED) from 2pm-6pm, courtesy of the Youth Hub provided by Niyyah Community Enterprise.
  • Free entry to explore Selly Manor Museum (Maple Road, B30 2AE) for anyone aged under 24 from 10am-5pm.
  • An exhibition created by the Past-Future youth programme (16 to 18-year-olds) at the Rest House (Bournville Village Green) from 11am-4pm.

India Wilson, Heritage Officer at Bournville Village Trust, said: “We’re really excited to be part of the first ever Bournville and Weoley Castle Youth Fest!

“We know some young people can feel isolated and lonely and aren’t sure where they can hang out with their friends that is safe, accessible and welcoming.

“The youth fest hopes to change that by showing what’s available locally as well as great opportunities – like our Past-Future youth programme – to get involved and try new things.”
