From 30th June to 4th July 2025, we marked Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Week, which aims to raise awareness of ASB and campaigns to make communities safer.

To mark the week, our Housing and Neighbourhoods team spent time visiting residents in Shenley to listen to their concerns about ASB.

The team also took part in a drop-in event in Northfield with partner organisations, including the Police, and took calls from Bournville Village Trust (BVT) customers during a dedicated two-hour phone-in.

During the neighbourhood visits we spoke to 72 residents across Shenley, with 25 residents telling us they’ve experienced ASB and 47 saying they haven’t.

The most common types of ASB mentioned were:

  • E-bikes and scooters.
  • Drug-related activity.
  • Noise disturbances (loud music, yelling, motorbikes).
  • Vandalism and property damage.
  • Dangerous driving and parking.
  • Youth-related issues.

Stacey Remes, Assistant Neighbourhood Services Manager at Bournville Village Trust, said: “I want to say a big thank you to everyone who attended the community drop-in event in Northfield, called us or spoke to us during the Shenley visits.

“The visits helped shed light on the concerns in the community and a significant number of residents reported experiencing anti-social behaviour (ASB), with recurring issues such as reckless use of e-bikes and scooters, suspected drug activity, and disruptive noise.

“We understand how distressing these issues can be, not only to individuals but to the community as a whole. And as a result, 14 cases have been raised with our Neighbourhood Co-ordinators who will be contacting affected residents directly to offer support and help.

“Whilst we have limited powers to take action against e-bikes/scooters, dangerous driving and drug related activity, we will be sharing advice on these issues in future communication and will raise the concerns with the local policing team for the area.”

If you are being impacted by ASB, you can find guidance on what to do, and a reporting form, on our ASB support page.

During the Shenley visits, we also asked for your ideas for a Shenley summer fun day. Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts, please look out for more information on this soon!
