Bournville Village Trust has partnered with South & City College Birmingham to give its customers, and members of the wider community, the chance to sign up to free training courses.

The courses, which will be held at Bournville Village Trust’s community centre, Shenley Court Hall, include:

  • Customer service (including learning about communication, handling customer information and dealing with conflict). This course starts from 15th September 2025.
  • Digital skills (including learning about spreadsheet, Word and presentation software). This course starts from 16th September 2025.

Courses are free if you’re aged 19 or over on 31st August 2025, live in the West Midlands and earn less than £32k per year.

Elaine Li, Community Development and Involvement Manager at Bournville Village Trust, said: “We carried out a survey earlier this year to ask what courses people would like to see on offer at Shenley Court Hall.

“People told us they wanted to improve their digital skills, so we’ve teamed up with South & City College Birmingham to bring Essential Digital Skills training to Shenley Court Hall in September as well as a course on customer service.”
