During lockdowns we have seen a rise in fly-tipping in some of our areas.
We have found rubbish dumped in green spaces as well large bulky items left in bin stores that won’t be taken by refuse collectors.
Fly-tipping not only costs us and Councils money to remove but it is an offence for which you can be prosecuted and fined heavily.
If you see fly-tipping or dumped rubbish, please report it to Birmingham City Council first at http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/…/89/report_fly-tipping or by downloading the Clear Waste App.
There’s also information on disposing of bulky items at https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/…/86/bulky_waste_collections
If you live in Telford, you can report fly-tipping at https://webforms.telford.gov.uk/form/18 and there is information on donating bulky items or arranging for a collection at https://www.telford.gov.uk/…/dispose_or_recycle_bulky…
In Birmingham, you can also donate unwanted decent furniture to CT Furniture at https://www.communitytransport.org/…/donate-furniture…
If you have a concern about fly-tipping or dumped rubbish and are not sure what to do, you can contact us on 0300 333 6540 or email enquiries@bvt.org.uk
