The team behind Bournville’s award-winning parks and open spaces has secured its first landscaping contract for a new student accommodation scheme.
Bournville Village Landscapes, part of Bournville Village Trust, will manage the landscaped areas of Athena Studios in Selly Oak after being awarded the £22,000 contract by Torsion Group.
The £10.4 million complex is being built on the site of the former Bristol Road Ambulance Station by Torsion Group and will be made up of 259 apartments.
As part of the contract, Bournville Village Landscapes will carry out two-weeks’ worth of soft landscaping work including tree, shrub and bulb planting, turf laying and grass seeding.
It will then undertake a 12-month maintenance programme for the scheme, which will open to students in mid-September and is close to the University of Birmingham’s main campus.
Lloyd Gower, Landscapes Manager at Bournville Village Landscapes part of Bournville Village Trust, said: “We are very proud of Bournville Village Landscapes’ progress over the last couple of years, which has seen the team develop and grow.
