Children can discover the gruesome, terrible and hilarious side of Tudor life this summer at a Birmingham museum for just £2.

Selly Manor Museum, in the heart of historic Bournville, will run its special Terrific Tudors event every day from 6th to 19th August 10am-5pm.

Youngsters can take part in a fun trail around the Museum all about unfortunate and gruesome Tudor deaths and get dressed up in fabulous Tudor costumes.

They can also try on armour and get creative with a range of fun craft activities.

Daniel Callicott, Manager of Selly Manor Museum, said: “With a range of activities for all the family, Terrific Tudors is an ideal summer holiday day out in a real Tudor manor.

“We have beautiful gardens which are perfect for a picnic, after all the exploring is done, making the whole day out really affordable.”

No booking is required for the Terrific Tudors event. Tickets cost £4 for adults, £3 for concessions, £2 for children or £12 for a family ticket (two adults / three children).

Selly Manor Museum is one of Birmingham’s most historic visitor attractions and welcomes thousands of people, including school children, every year.

Made up of two distinct buildings, it brings history to life with interactive exhibits, tours, talks and special events.

The Museum was opened by chocolate-maker George Cadbury in 1916 after he rescued it from destruction and much of its beautiful collection was donated by the philanthropist’s son Laurence.
