We have been recognised for our commitment to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

SEND Birmingham, a partnership of organisations including Birmingham City Council, the NHS and Birmingham Children’s Trust, has awarded us the Birmingham SEND Co-production Award Scheme Bronze Certificate.

The Award celebrates organisations that actively work in partnership with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), along with their families and carers, to design, develop, and improve services together.

Laura Keane, Supporting People Services Manager at Bournville Village Trust, said: “We are incredibly proud that our youth services have been individually recognised and awarded the SEND Co-Production Bronze Award.

“The Award reflects our strong commitment to making sure young people’s voices are genuinely heard, valued and embedded in decision making, demonstrating that we are building inclusive environments where collaboration drives meaningful change.

“We’re excited to continue strengthening our co-production approach as we strive for even greater impact. Bronze is just the start and we are already working towards our Silver accreditation!”

We provide services to young people through our care leavers supported accommodation and our children/young people services at Shenley Court Hall.

We also works with a range of partners to support services for young people in our neighbourhoods.

The SEND Birmingham panel recognised our services commitment to working together with children, young people, and parent carers in promoting their voice and participation in the co-design, co-delivery, and co-assessment of services.
