College Green is a £60m state-of-the-art care village that is meeting the needs of hundreds of older people in Birmingham.
It was built on the former site of Bournville College on the Bristol Road South in Bournville and completed in 2021.
Whilst we master-planned the development, a number of organisations were involved in successfully delievering the project. These organisations included the ExtraCare Charitable Trust, Avery Healthcare, GPs and the NHS Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group.
The flagship village features four specific parts which include:
1: 212 apartments set within a stunning retirement village with a range of fantastic facilities, including a restaurant, gym, IT facilities, shop, care and landscaped gardens. 2: 80-bedroom residential care home for older people and people with dementia complete with beautiful gardens, a café and hairdressing salon. This phase has been developed and is managed by Avery Healthcare. For further information, please visit www.averyhealthcare.co.uk
3: 16 cottage-style homes for older people. This phase has been developed and is managed by the ExtraCare Charitable Trust.
4: A health and well-being centre, which includes a health and wellbeing centre incorporating the College Green Medical Practice which serves patients across the local area. The dementia-friendly Practice provides general medical services as well as cryotherapy, minor surgery and a full range of contraception services.
All of the above facilities are set in a distinctive and environmentally-sustainable setting reflecting our vision for places.
