 Salary: £28,126.41 per annum


We are seeking 2 permanent part time staff members, for our Young People Leaving Care scheme.  The key aim of the posts is:

  • We are seeking dedicated and experienced Support Worker to join our team, focusing on providing support to vulnerable care experienced young people from a variety of different backgrounds.
  • Assist in providing a person-centred service to clients, equipping them with the skills necessary to move to independent living.
  • The ideal candidates will demonstrate an understanding of trauma enforced working and its effects on behaviours, along with a commitment to creating safe and nurturing environment.

Job Profile

We are seeking 2 new part time project workers to support the service. As an integral member of our team, you will work in partnership with colleagues to deliver great services to your internal and external customers. The role will involve:

Key Tasks:

  • To encourage and enable the development of life skills and to maximise opportunities for young people using the service, to develop personal interests and talents.
  • To ensure support provided is tailored to the needs of the individual and in accordance with their support plan.
  • To work with a wide range of external agencies on behalf of the young people and the project.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work undertaken. Complete reports to support the development of goals and care plans.
  • To ensure appropriate risk assessments are completed for the services being delivered.
  • To assist in maintaining the safety and security of the project, staff and clients at all times, within prescribed procedures and working practices.
  • Play a critical role in safeguarding and promoting the well-being of the young people.
  • Engage and encourage children and young people to participate in activities aimed at promoting their well-being.
  • To play an active role within the Holdings team and wider BVT team.

Candidate Profile

You will be values driven and focused on delivering great services.

  • Ability to show empathy and to keep calm under pressure.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good listener.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and alone.
  • Able to work unsocial hours as required.
  • Subject to clear enhanced check with Criminal Record Bureau.


  • Experience of working with care leavers
Hours of work

The post is for 15/20 hours per week, Monday to Saturday to include some evenings.

The service must be flexible to the changing needs of the young people, so there will be a need to have some flexibility regarding hours.
