We provide a ‘selection box’ of opportunities for you to help shape the services you, and your neighbours, get from us. They range from everything to filling in a survey to joining a formal panel or group.
We also have opportunities for you to have an active role in governance and decision making. And, where possible, we aim to have resident-led committees.
Not only does great resident involvement help us provide better quality services, but by joining panels and groups you can learn new skills and boost your personal development.
Informal involvement
One-off opportunities that can be about a single issue/service. You don’t have to give lots of time or involvement.
- Ad-hoc surveys and questionnaires. Sometimes we ask for your views on a project or a specific element of a service. You can do this by filling in online surveys, feedback forms, or in-person questionnaires.
- Transactional tenant surveys. We ask for your views straight after you get some services from us to understand how we did. These include having a repair, calling our contact centre, reporting anti-social behaviour or moving into a rented home.
- Tenant survey and shared owner satisfaction survey. Once a year, we invite all tenants and shared owners to complete this survey, where you can tell us how satisfied you are with a range of services.
- Complaints and compliments. Telling us when we have got things wrong or right helps us learn and improve. We make it easy for you to do this, and you can find out more on our how to make a complaint or compliment page.
- Neighbourhood drop-ins. You can share issues or feedback with your Neighbourhood Co-ordinator at weekly or monthly drop-ins. Details of drop-ins are available on our Neighbourhood Co-ordinators page.
- Estate walk and talks. You can join our estate officers on walk and talks. You can show issues to officers as well as informally scrutinise services.
- Social media. You can share feedback on services on our social media platforms, which include Facebook and X
Formal involvement and consultation
Opportunities to delve deeper into shaping the services we provide. Some time commitment, with the chance to develop your skills and experience.
Resident Scrutiny Groups
The Your Home Scrutiny Group, Your Tenancy Scrutiny Group and Your Neighbourhood Scrutiny Group meet once each quarter to scrutinise our services and make recommendations for how we can improve.
Each group has its own remit of scrutiny and they review and work closely with our staff and residents to understand current levels of service. As a member, you’ll be offered training and development alongside a suite of recognition.
Interested in joining one of our scrutiny groups? You can read our full recruitment pack below and fill in the form at the bottom of this page and we will get back to you. You can also email any questions or topics for scrutiny to governance@bvt.org.uk
