Living in a Bournville Village Trust-managed neighbourhood is a little different to living in other areas.

Some of our neighbourhoods in Birmingham and Telford have ‘schemes of management’. You can read more about what this means below.

Bournville Estate Scheme of Management

If you live in the Bournville Estate Scheme of Management, you will be charged an annual fee. This fee helps pay for services provided by our Estates and Stewardship and Grounds Maintenance teams.  You can read more about these services on our estates and stewardship page.

If you are buying or have bought a home on the Bournville estate, it’s important you know if it lies within the boundaries of our Scheme of Management.  You can see if it does using this map Bournville-Scheme-of-Management-Map

The Bournville Scheme of Management was introduced under Section 19 of the Leasehold Reform Act 1967. It applies to all homes in the Bournville Estate Scheme of Management.

You can read the Bournville Scheme of Management by downloading it below.

Bournville & Manor Park Estates and Meadow Rise management service

We also provide a management service to areas including Bournville Park & Manor Park Estates and Meadow Rise, which are outside the Bournville Scheme of Management. Each household pays an annual charge which funds services including:

  • Grass and hedge cutting.
  • Shrub bed maintenance and weed control.
  • Maintenance of grit bins, street lighting and furniture.

Lawley Village, Telford

Every household in Lawley Village pays an annual community charge which covers the cost of services provided by our Estates and Stewardship team.

Any unspent funds are credited to residents or invested back into Lawley Village. The charge does not fund construction work and isn’t spent on areas outside our scheme of management.

The community charge is a flat rate and the same for each household. The level of charge is reviewed every year and set by the resident-led Lawley Management Committee (LMC). Services funded by the community charge include:

  • Maintenance of open spaces and courtyards
  • Running and repair of lighting in areas that Bournville Village Trust is responsible for.
  • Community events, support and communications.
  • Wear and Tear Fund (funds set aside for replacement of items).
  • Home alteration support and advice
  • Enforcement of restrictive covenants.
  • Staffing and office running costs.

Lightmoor Village, Telford

Every household in Lightmoor Village pays an annual stewardship charge which contributes to the cost of services provided by our Estates and Stewardship team.

The stewardship charge is a flat rate and the same for each household. The level of charge is reviewed every year and set by the resident-led Lightmoor Village Management Committee (LVMC). Services funded by the charge include:

  • Maintenance of open spaces and courtyards.
  • Running and repair of lighting.
  • Community events, support and communications.
  • Wear and Tear Fund (funds set aside for replacement of items).
  • Home alteration support and advice
  • Enforcement of restrictive covenants.
  • Staffing and office running costs.
